BOCUSE D’OR

After five hours and 35 minutes of competitive cooking in the Palazzo Ballroom, chef Matthew Kirkley and his commis (assistant) Mimi Chen of San Francisco’s Coi were chosen to represent the United States in the prestigious Bocuse d’Or cooking competition. Judges and board members for the American effort, who were on hand for the battle, included Thomas Keller, Daniel Boulud, Paul Bartolotta and Andre Soltner. After the winners were announced, supporters celebrated with a star-studded party at Keller’s Bouchon.
