PUTTING THE ‘CLASS’ IN CLASSIC COCKTAILS

The results of the Palazzo’s ongoing face-lift are gradually becoming apparent as, a few at a time, construction walls are coming down to reveal gorgeous new places to imbibe with friends.

The first of three planned bars is Rosina, a relatively tiny lounge near the guest elevators. But what the cozy, 65-seat respite from the casino floor lacks in size, it more than makes up for in decadent art deco detail.Cast in shades of black, pearl, gold and burgundy, the darkened space sets a hushed tone, but appears ever-ready for a crew of boisterous revelers.

Classic cocktails accented with seasonal fruits are prepared with gold and copper barware and served in etched crystal glasses.

Champagne “call buttons” are positioned strategically throughout the room, allowing guests to summon a glass of bubbly (or anything else) with the flick of a finger.

To show you’re in the know, ask about the secret julep menu. In addition to the standard variety (the only one listed on the public menu), the bar staff offers five custom recipes based on rye and cognac, bourbon and apple brandy, pineapple rum and rye, tequila and mezcal, and dark rum with coffee.

That last one, known as an Early to Rise, offers a nice caffeine pickup to keep the party going a little longer.
