SHOP, STOP AND CHOP: Wolfgang Puck’s Spago relocates to the Bellagio Shops

For those who love to shop, The Bellagio Shops offer some of the finest retailers in the world, all on one short stroll. With names such as Chanel, Dior, Giorgio Armani, Fendi, Harry Winston & Co. and Prada within a few minutes’ walk of each other, the experience is as much Beverly Hills as Las Vegas. So it’s only fitting that you now can enjoy a bite between buys in 90210’s most famous restaurant: Wolfgang Puck’s Spago.

After 26 years at The Forum Shops, the pioneering celebrity chef has relocated his local flagship to this corridor of consumption at the north end of Bellagio, in the space that formerly housed Todd English’s Olives. But the room has received a complete makeover, courtesy of his wife, Gelila.

Bathed in white and accented with gold light fixtures and tanned leather chairs, the interior is divided into a dining room on the left, and a lounge on the right. Exit the doors to the rear, however, and you’ll find the most coveted seats in the house (at least while the weather is nice).

The patio on the shore of the resort’s man-made lake is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and a bite while watching its world-famous fountains dance.

The menu in all three areas is packed with the dishes that made the chef famous, from cones of tuna tartare to smoked salmon pizza, as well as new creations.

Kampachi crudo is dressed with pickled radish, avocado, yuzu gel and hibiscus-ponzu. The hand-cut garganelli comes with rabbit confit and fava beans. And the saffron risotto features Santa Barbara prawns delivered live to the new location. So you’ll have no trouble finding something to recharge your battery before getting back to the hard work of shopping.
